Meet Len Gauger. Len is a passionate person who cares about his family, his community, and his home state of Michigan. These days it seems that all he cares about are blocks. As the founder and CEO of Message Blocks, a software startup based in Ann Arbor, MI , Len truly cares about the building blocks of his company.
Len began his career as a hotel sales manager. Displaying a real talent for business development, Len was quickly promoted to being a Regional Sales and Marketing manager in Washington D.C.
Though he was far from his beloved home state, Len enjoyed D.C. as he grew in his position as the regional manager of the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels. In his position, he worked with many federal organizations. Impressed with his passion and reliability, the Air National Guard hired Len as a conference planner to plan their executive level conferences. Each year, he, along with his team planned and executed over 20 conferences and events.
During all of this Len Gauger noticed a huge problem with the way event information was collected, maintained, and stored. For each event they organized, the planner created a binder. Full of printed files and exported documents, these binder were literally overflowing. Team members even had cabinets full of binders filled with event information, but struggled to find the information they needed. Len knew the system had to be changed.
Len with his daughter, Emilia.From his tenure as an event planner to his position now as the CEO of Message Blocks, Len Gauger works hard everyday to help planners build better events. He is passionately obsessed with building his company, his software, and the events that grow from it. Len spends the rest of his time with his wife Jen and his daughter, Emilia. When he is not working or with family, he gives his time to Community Living Centers and a new charity he and some family members started, H.A.N.D.S. (Helping Another’s Needs Delivering Supplies) where they donate unused goods to homeless shelters throughout the state of Michigan.
