Now that it’s November, it’s officially holiday party planning season! If you haven’t already, set a date for your holiday party and scoop up a venue for your event so you can start thinking about vendors for your holiday party entertainment.
This week we talked to Bernie Stevens, the 31-year industry veteran who runs BSA Events & Entertainment. He gave us his recommendations for the hottest holiday party entertainment this season. While we do love a good Santa, feel free to kick things up a notch with these ideas.
Hottest Holiday Party Entertainment
Las Vegas-style Casino Party
All the thrill of gambling but without the loss! Blackjack, roulette, craps, you name it. Give all your attendees fake chips and let them go wild. Prizes go to the “richest” people at the end of the night.
Stevens points out, “The reason you want these types of programs is that they’re interactive and engaging. You have a chance to be next to the CEO of your company and having a good time.”
Dueling Pianos
Instead of going to a piano bar, you can bring the musical talent to you! Take song requests from your guests before the event, so you can make sure to play everyone’s favorites.
Stevens mentions, “It’s very audience interactive. It’s a little less formal than other parties. It’s a lot of clean, good comedy.”

Game Shows
Sound system, lights, buzzers, you name it. Rent all the equipment you need for popular games like Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, Millionaire, and more. Some companies will allow you to include branded elements, like your company’s name. Who hasn’t imagined themselves as a game show contestant?
Murder Mysteries
Murder mystery dinner theater is perfect for a company holiday dinner. Guests will be entertained as they try to figure out “whodunit.” It can also be a great team-building exercise as each table works as a group to solve the mystery.
A Night at the Derby
Recreate the experience of “a night at the horse races.” Guests can make bets and then watch video horse racing to find out who wins.
Stevens adds, “It’s very similar to a casino. It’s audience interactive. People talk among themselves, how they’re doing, betting on the horse. Rather than having a simple prize drawing, it gives them a chance to be more involved.”
The DJ
No party would be complete without a DJ to set the mood. Make sure to ask about special holiday playlists when sending out RFP’s.
